Church has message for Canadiens’ fans: Let us pray
What is it that the clergy tell the downtrodden, the ones with no hope? When all else fails, trust in the Lord, right?
Montreal’s Catholic archdiocese believes the Lord will heed the desperate pleas of Montreal Canadiens fans. The faithful of the the blue, blanc et rouge just have to ask.
On Tuesday, the archdiocese ran a simple, full-page advertisement in the city’s French language papers.
Manning has not retired from eating pizza
Papa John’s, the U.S. pizza chain, sent an email to the office after the kerfuffle involving actor Rob Lowe and his attempt to tease his followers that he had heard Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was going to announce his retirement. (The notion was refuted by the Colts, Manning’s agent and his dad, Archie.)
We enjoy Peyton’s pleated khakis, the official pants of pretend referees everywhere. It would have been much more fun to see Peyton in some of those black snowpants the officials wear in cold weather.
